Apple TV: What to Watch (October 26 – November 1)

Avatar for David Becker

Once again, we are continuing our Apple TV “What to Watch” series again this week. With that said, here are the following shows, movies and sporting events that Apple is promoting users to watch this week through their Apple TV app.

Key Show:

1480x495fe-90

  • Ray Donovan (Showtime): Abby’s dead. Ray took a swan dive into the East River. Is NYC ready for some serious California noir? We are.
    • Available to watch on the Showtime, Hulu (with Showtime add-on), Prime Video (with Showtime channel add-on), and select live TV streaming services

Fantasy + Horror:

  • Charmed (The CW): This fresh, funky reboot is proof that it’s once again the season of the witch.
    • Available to watch on The CW and Hulu with Live TV apps (not regular Hulu).
  • Lore (Prime Original/Prime Video): It’s like Masterpiece Theatre … only with dead bodies and gore.
    • Available to watch on Prime Video.
  • Channel Zero (SyFy): A new collection of skin-crawling chills. We’ll be watching through our fingers.
    • Available on the SyFy app.

Music Meets TV:

  • Empire (FOX): Andre’s out of jail, Lucious is hunting for cash, and we’re dying to know — who’s in the coffin?!
    • Available to watch on FOX Now and Hulu
  • Carpool Karaoke (Apple Original/Apple TV): Bebe Rexha’s soulful wail and Wiz Khalifa’s killer flow are a perfect match.
  • Star (FOX): Queen Latifah gives a must-see performance as Carlotta heads toward a mental breakdown.
    • Available to watch on FOX Now and Hulu

Family Night Films:

  • Incredibles 2: Suit up with the best super family ever. Own it to catch the all-new mini-movie, Auntie Edna.
  • Hocus Pocus: Bette Midler is fiendishly fun in this creepy treat — and it’s $9.99 for a limited time.
  • Hotel Transylvania 3: Drac brings his nutty monster mash to the high seas.

Game Time: Apple is promoting this with their newest partner, PlayStation Vue. This means that you can stream the games on PlayStation Vue directly from the Apple TV app.

  • World Series: Game 3 (FOX): To avoid the deadly 0-3 abyss, L.A. needs clutch hitting, ace pitching, and, potentially, tons of rally caps.
    • Game 3 starts tonight at 8:09 ET.
  • #9 Florida vs. #7 Georgia (CBS): The Gators are bringing their playoff fantasies and 5-game win streak to this annual Dawg fight.
    • Starts at 4:30 PM ET on Saturday.
  • Saints vs. Vikings (NBC): For Saints fans still haunted by the Minneapolis Miracle, chin up — here’s your first shot at revenge.
    • Starts at 8:20 PM ET on Sunday

This week, we are not including the clip art other than the Key Show for the week. This makes it so that we can get the content out faster to you and it takes up less memory for our amount storage here on TeamApple News.

To make this post different from the other one, we are adding our picks, which for not will be my picks. Again, this series is still in the experimental phase.

Our Picks:

  • Last Man Standing (FOX): The first four episodes of the seventh season are currently available to viewers. Since a new episode is not on this week, this is the perfect time to catch up on the newest season.
    • Available to watch on FOX Now and Hulu.
  • Doctor Who’s “Twice Upon a Time” Christmas Special (Prime Video): 2017’s Doctor Who Christmas special has finally come to Prime Video this month, and with that said, although I will not spoil it, something big is going to change.
  • Galaxy Quest (Prime Video): This film has more of a cult following than anything, but like Last Man Standing, it stars Tim Allen.
  • Christmas at Pemberley Manor (Hallmark Channel): This is the first original Christmas movie that Hallmark Channel is showing as part of their Christmas season movie coverage.
    • The movie begins on Saturday at 8 PM/7 PM CT on Hallmark Channel.
