We reported earlier this month that HyVee had been rumored to be accepting Apple Pay soon. Well, we can now confirm that the company does have some of their stores accepting Apple Pay.Â
This was confirmed by HyVee’s Twitter account a couple days ago when a customer asked when they could (ironically) start using Google Pay in their stores. HyVee responded to them saying that some of their stores are beginning to accept Apple Pay, along with other Android payment options (Google Pay and Samsung Pay, although Samsung Pay has already been available in stores via MST).
It comes at a time where their competition such as Fareway, Aldi and many other grocery and non-grocery retailers have begun to start accepting it in their stores and in their apps, as well.
Although Apple Pay nor Android payment options are available for use on the official HyVee app or website, you can use it with the Instacart and Shipt apps in select locations.
UPDATE (11/29/2018): HyVee does indeed have Apple Pay in their stores now, but it is not in every single one and currently only in certain locations and stores. If you have any questions on whether or not your store takes it, be sure to call the store of your interest and ask them whether or not they accept it there yet.
