iOS 12.1.3 coming next week for iPhones to Comply With Qualcomm Ruling

Apple will release a software update to iOS 12.1 next week, for iOS 12.1.3. This software update will tweak Chinese iPhone models to comply with the Qualcomm Ruling in China – aiming to modify functions that a local court found had infringed on a pair of key Qualcomm Inc. patents.

Reported by Bloomberg, Apple provided a public message with the following:

 

“To address any possible concern about our compliance with the order, early next week we will deliver a software update for iPhone users in China addressing the minor functionality of the two patents at issue in the case.”
