Apple has been ramping up marketing for the 2018 iPhone lineup: iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max and iPhone XR due to their slow sales, and lower than expected demand.
The latest iPhone XR TV Commercial highlights the iPhone XR’s 6.1-inch “Liquid Retina display”, which is for the first time on an edge-to-edge iPhone, an LCD display. The display on the iPhone XR is the most controversial part of the device, because of its 326ppi standard, much lower than the iPhone XS’ 401-ppi display.
The new ad shows a rather strange totalitarian society where people are running through streets in basic uniforms only distinguished by color. 9to5Mac suggests that this could be a prison break.
The ad finishes with the tagline “Make room for color” shown on the a blue iPhone XR before promoting the Liquid Retina display and briefly showing the front view of each of the other iPhone XR colors.
