According to the Apple Pay subreddit on Reddit, it would appear as though FedEx has begun to accept Apple Pay as a payment method in their stores and shipping centers.
Reddit user @tytygh1010 has found that FedEx has started accepting this form of payment storewide. There are currently signs in FedEx stores that say that they are accepting mobile payment options such as Apple Pay, Google Pay and Samsung Pay.
One other thing that I have noticed is that this is the same card readers that Best Buy stores have that also accept Apple Pay and other forms of mobile payment. Dollar General does have the same card readers but currently does not accept Apple Pay or any other mobile payment method.
After testing it out, Apple Pay is not working in any of FedEx’s iOS apps right now. However, it would not be a surprise if it is accepted in their apps in the near future. It looks as though Apple Pay is only accepted in FedEx stores at this time.
We have contacted FedEx for a comment and will update this story if we receive any comment from them.
(UPDATE: 04/29/2019): FedEx has provided us with a statement about them putting Apple Pay in their stores.
Enablement of Apple Pay is not currently available at all locations but is a part of a roll-out nationwide for FedEx Office locations. The enablement will happen across payment and registers.
