Canalys estimates show that iPhone shipments for this quarter fell with 23% compared to last year. Although this sounds bad, it is better than IDC’s estimate of 30% drop in iPhone shipments for this quarter.
IDC released its preliminary numbers for the overall smartphone market last night. The report said that the overall smartphone shipments fell with 6% and iPhone shipments fell with 30%.
Canalys’ report (from TechCrunch) also shows a 6% drop for overall smartphone shipments but only a 23% drop in iPhone shipments, which is still the biggest YoY drop for iPhone shipments.
