CARROT Weather Updates Notifications and Subscription Tiers

One of the most popular third-party weather apps in the App Store received a major update. The app is now getting even more notifications…at a price.

According to the new update, users can get expect new notifications from the app for weather events like lightning strikes, precipitation, new storm cells, astronomy and now users can customize the alerts even more now.

A big part of the new update too is that users will be able to get “Critical Alerts,” which means that the app will send you alerts for things like Tornado Warnings and Flash Flood Warnings, but that the alerts will be loud and go off even if your iPhone is on silent or Do Not Disturb.

CARROT Weather also has a new way of doing subscriptions. Previously, the app had two subscription tiers; Premium and Superpremium. However, now the premium subscription tiers are simply called Tier 1, Tier 2 and Tier 3.

The prices for the tiers can be found below in their yearly prices. CARROT Weather does offer to pay by the month as well.

  • Tier 1: $4.99
  • Tier 2: $11.99
  • Tier 3: $24.99

The cost for the app itself is $4.99 in the iOS App Store. CARROT Weather, along with the iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad and the Apple Watch, is additionally available on the Apple TV and Mac. The Apple TV app costs $4.99 in the tvOS App Store and $11.99 in the Mac App Store.

This is a great app to have this summer, as it will be able to alert you for the coming storms and more. It does come at a price, but it is a price you can pay if you want to be as safe as possible this thunderstorm season.
