It was reported yesterday that NBC will be pulling The Office from Netflix in 2021. The series has been a hallmark for Netflix and is widely considered their most popular show on the service.
Now, although it may seem like a while from now, you might want to find out how you could stream or watch The Office without having Netflix or NBC’s new streaming service, which is a big reason for why the company is doing this.
So what are the best options to stream?
The first option is through the Comedy Central app. You will need to sign-in with your TV providers credentials in order to stream episodes of the series from the app. It will have commercials as well.
Another option would be to simply access it through your live TV streaming service. Say you have a service like Sling TV or FuboTV, you should be able to have access to each channel’s on-demand, which is the same as Comedy Central’s app. From there, you will be able to watch as much of The Office as the service will let you, which is typically episodes that have recently aired that you likely missed.
My last streaming method is Philo TV. The reason I separate this from Sling TV and FuboTV is that Philo TV has this really great feature where you simply save the show onto your account, and from there, the service saves each episode where the show is broadcasted. Since both Comedy Central and the Nick@Nite block air it, you will be able to get episodes from both of those networks saved.
If you do miss episodes, you can easily watch the episodes that are available to you. It would be the same way you watched them on Netflix.
However, if you do not stream or don’t want to be reliant on a streaming service of having the show, you might want to just own the show. When I say this, I don’t mean going out and buying each season individually. Instead, I’m talking about buying the entire series as a whole.
Right now, you can get all nine seasons of The Office on DVD through Target for only $49.99, which does not include the five percent discount you get when buying it with your Target REDcard. Some stores might have it in stock, so it would be best to check online to make sure that your Target store has it in stock.
Other retailers like Best Buy and Walmart do sell it, as well as Amazon too.
At the end of the day, it is one of the best options to watch the show and not have to worry about a streaming service having it and then paying for that streaming service each month, whereas a complete set to the show would be a one-time purchase.
The Office will officially be leaving Netflix in January 2021.
Let us know in the comments if this helped you at all and if you plan on taking one of these routes to make sure that you have years to come of watching The Office.
