An 11-year old girl’s iPhone 6 has apparently caught fire and exploded. The phone was being used and then thrown across a room when sparks appeared.

Images and reports show that the iPhone burned major holes, and also in the girl’s property too. The phone has been through usual use.

Apple is investigating the causes and have sent out a newer model iPhone to compensate. The mother, Maria, said that Apple instructed them to send off the iPhone 6 to their service centre.

The company will likely not comment on this situation publicly, but usually mention the use of unauthorised charging accessories and repairs.
