In a shock move, Apple has today releases new versions of iOS for devices that cannot run the latest version – that being iOS 12.4, also released today.
iOS 9.3.6 and iOS 10.3.4 are available for iPad 2, iPad 3, cellular models of iPad mini, along with iPhone 5 and iPad 4 cellular. The iPhone 4s has not yet received the update.
These older software updates have been released to address issues with GPS performance and locations, along with system time and date problems. Users of older devices can update via Settings > General > Software Update.
