Philo is a live TV streaming service for those who are not big sports fans, yet still want to be able to stream channels live and for a cheap price. The service did undergo a price change this year from starting at $16 a month for 45 channels, to $20 a month for 58 channels.
Philo does carry popular networks like Nickelodeon, Comedy Central, Hallmark Channel, CMT and many others. Click here to see all of the 58 channels that Philo offers on their live TV streaming service.
What users and subscribers can do now with Philo is subscribe to it through Apple and the App Store. To make it even better, unlike YouTube TV, which charges an extra $5 per month to subscribe through Apple, Philo subscribers can subscribe to Philo and still keep the $20 per month price.
One of the reasons companies do this is because of the “Apple tax,” where Apple takes a 15-30-percent cut of the app’s in-app purchase revenue.
Philo is currently available to stream on the iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad, Apple TV and Mac.
