It was announced today by YouTube TV and AT&T WarnerMedia that YouTube TV will be adding HBO Max and Cinemax to its live TV streaming service soon.
To sweeten the pot even more, YouTube TV subscribers will have the option to bundle their YouTube TV with HBO Max when that service launches this spring. By doing this, YouTube TV will be the first live TV streaming service to have a bundle option with HBO Max.
It would not be too surprising if AT&T does this with its live TV streaming service, AT&T TV NOW in the future, given its relationship with Warner Brothers and HBO.
HBO Max is set to launch in May 2020 and be the exclusive streaming provider of TV shows such as Friends, The Big Bang Theory, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Rick and Morty and Doctor Who. What should be no surprise too is that HBO Max will still have all of HBO’s original content too like Game of Thrones, The Newsroom and Silicon Valley.
It is still unclear when YouTube TV will add HBO and Cinemax to its subscribers as an additional add-on to the service, but we assume that it will likely happen sometime in March or April 2020 before HBO Max launches in May. The prices of those add-ons are unclear too.
However, if we look at the traditional way HBO has priced its add-on service to streaming services, the HBO add-on will likely cost an extra $15 a month.
YouTube TV costs $50 a month and is available to stream on the iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad, Apple TV and Mac.
