Apple has officially run out of the HomePod on its online store.

There has been speculation and rumors for a couple of months that the company is set to be creating a new HomePod that would be smaller and cheaper than the first generation.

Last month, Apple did reduce the price of the HomePod to 50 percent off for employees at both the corporate and retail sides of the company, which could be an indicator that a new version is on the way.

However, it could be that the company is having inventory issues due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Consumers still have the option to get a HomePod through retailers such as Best Buy, Target and B&H Photo. All of those retailers do accept Apple Pay too.

You can read our review of the HomePod here and see if it is something you might want for yourself. After all, there may not be much time left to get a first-generation model.

UPDATE (05/14/2020): The HomePod is now back in stock on Apple’s website. However, there is a shipping delay on the product at this time.
