Today Apple released two 2020 Pride edition variants for its line of Apple Watch Sport & Nike bands. The new bands are available for purchase today on Apple’s online store for $49 each with delivery dates expected for Thursday, May 21st at the time of writing this article.Â
It has become an annual tradition for Apple to release Pride edition watch bands and watch faces to the public every year since 2018. Early Pride watch bands were gifted internally to Apple employees in 2016 as part of Apple’s official Pride March.Â
Today Apple also released the final build of watchOS 6.2.5 to developers which includes watch faces to match the design of the new 2020 Pride bands. We can expect to see a public release of watchOS 6.2.5 within the next couple of days. Â
It is worth noting that, following the release of today’s Pride edition sport bands, Apple has discontinued the 2019 Pride Edition Sport Loop band. Apple detailed the production of its new Pride Edition sport band with the following statement:Â
The Pride Edition Sport Band is assembled by hand from individual strips of colored fluoroelastomer. The strips are then machine die-cut and compression molded together. This process results in subtle variations in the wavy rainbow design, making each band artfully unique.
