Hong Kong’s famous Octopus card can now be used with Apple Pay. The Octopus Card is a contactless smart value card for online or offline payments.
With the new support from Apple Pay, customers can now use Apple Pay instead of the Octopus card with an iPhone or Apple Watch. An Express Transit mode is there which allows tap-and-go payment without further authentication.
On the Wallet app, the card can be added by tapping the plus sign in the top right corner of their iPhone.
Apple has already added Express Transit mode on Apple Pay for many major cities. The company is planning to expand this to many more cities in the coming days.
