Apple unveiled a wide range of new features at WWDC for their major software releases – iOS, iPadOS, watchOS, macOS and tvOS.

Along with new groundbreaking features for iOS 14, Apple has also announced that it will support 3rd Party items on the Find My App to help locate them easily. According to Apple’s Newsroom, “Find My will add support for finding third-party products and accessories with the new Find My network accessory program. This will allow customers to use the Find My app to locate other important items in their lives, in addition to their Apple devices. User privacy remains central to the Find My network with end-to-end encryption built in. A draft specification is available for accessory makers and product manufacturers starting today.”

This will be largely beneficial to Tile, as they had recently placed a complaint to the EU against Apple claiming that the Find My App was granted more permissions than the 3rd Party Apps which made Apple’s Find My App work better and that Apple is trying to favor their own technologies.

Apple is all set to launch its upcoming confirmed and rumored product AirTags which is a tracking device, just like tile, and can be traced using the Find My App which will be deeply integrated with AirTags. Apple had accidentally confirmed AirTags in one of their support videos as we reported. This gave us a clear confirmation that the product AirTags exists and Apple is developing on it.
