How to Hard Reset iPhone X or later

Step 1) Press and hold the side button and either the volume up or volume down button until the power off screen appears. 

Step 2) After the power off screen appears, drag the power button slider to turn off your iPhone.

Step 3) Press and hold the Side button until you see the Apple logo, then let go of the side button to reboot your iPhone
