Costco is one of the most popular brick-and-mortar retailers in the U.S. In addition to that, the company sells gas to customers too.
Two years ago, the company started accepting Apple Pay in its stores and now it would appear as though the feature is coming to the company’s gas stations.
A reliable source on Reddit said his local Costco put in new gas pumps that have NFC readers on them, and according to the Reddit post, an employee at the gas station said Apple Pay support on the gas pumps should be coming this week.
At this time, Costco does not accept Apple Pay on its app or website.
Once Costco adds Apple Pay to the pump, customers will be able to use Apple Pay from the iPhone or Apple Watch without having to pay at or speak with a gas station attendant.
Apple Card users, when using their Apple Card from their iPhone or Apple Watch, will get 2% in Daily Cash, which applies to the Costco gas station and its retail stores.
