Apple has rolled out the third beta version of iOS 14.2 and iPadOS 14.2 to developers. For developer beta testers, if the proper configuration file is installed on your devices, iOS 14.2 can be directly updated via Settings -> General -> Software Update.

Here are the new features that Apple has added to iOS 14.2 so far:

  • A Shazam control that will recognize songs by tap it on the Control Center
  • There is a new “People Detection” feature in the Magnifier app, which allows one to know how far away other people are
  • Media Controls in the Control Center now include content suggestions when nothing is being played
  • New emoji characters for users, but most of them were previewed in July
However, other than that, we haven’t discovered any new features yet. If you did find one, do let us know by leaving a comment on our Twitter page @Appleosophy.
