Apple has just announced it’s brand new products to the iPhone lineup – iPhone 12, iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 12 Pro, and iPhone 12 Pro Max, taking technology to the next level. All these new iPhones feature next level 5G Technology, and as Verizon CEO says, “5G just got real” in the event, mmWave 5G will be available on all the USA models.
Here’s what you need to know about the iPhone 12 & iPhone 12 mini:
Display & Design:
The iPhone 12 comes with a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR Display with a 2532‑by‑1170-pixel resolution at 460 ppi which is a huge upgrade over last year’s iPhone 11, which was a Liquid Retina Display with a 1792‑by‑828‑pixel resolution at 326 ppi. The iPhone 12 does not only feature slimmer bezels, but also is 11% thinner, 15% smaller, and 16% lighter and offers up to 1200 nits of brightness on HDR. The new design with squared-off aluminum edges and slimmer bezels makes this iPhone look awesome! The display now has a Ceramic Shield which improves the drop performance by four times. The iPhone 12 mini offers the same Design as the iPhone 12, but with a 5.4-inch Super Retina XDR Display with a 2340‑by‑1080-pixel resolution at 476 ppi and both iPhones have a contrast ratio of 2,000,000:1. Not enough? The iPhone 12 & iPhone 12 mini have IP68 water-resistance of a maximum depth of 6 meters up to 30 minutes.
Performance & Battery:
The iPhone 12 & the iPhone 12 mini are powered by the performance beast, the A14 Bionic Chip, which is the same chip revealed last month with the new iPad Air. The 6-Core CPU has 11.8 billion transistors and can perform 11 trillion operations in a second. The A14 Bionic chip offers efficient battery life & performance.
Camera:
The iPhone 12 & iPhone 12 mini offers a Dual Camera System, with a Wide and an Ultra-Wide lens. Apple has upgraded the Wide Lens with Seven Elements and f/1.6 aperture, previously Six with the iPhone 11. Both the Wide and Ultra-Wide Cameras now offer Night Mode & Deep Fusion with Smart HDR 3 with Scene Detection, offering Computational Photography. The new Wide Camera can now receive 27% more light, making low-light photography even better and features HDR video recording with Dolby Vision for up to 30 fps. The TrueDepth Camera System has also been upgraded to support Night Mode, Deep Fusion & Smart HDR 3 with Scene Detection.
Connectivity:
The iPhone 12 & iPhone 12 mini offer superfast 5G Connectivity with mmWave Technology (mmWave only in select regions). Apple has partnered with Verizon to offer the best 5G experience on the iPhone 12 series. These powerful devices will also have “Smart Data Mode” which will switch between 5G and 4G/LTE to preserve battery life. iPhone will automatically switch to the 5G Network when required.
MagSafe: Everything just clicks:
The iPhone 12 & iPhone 12 mini have magnets on the back which allows many accessories to connect with just a snap. You can use a Card Holder for your Apple Card or charge it with a MagSafe wireless charger with up to 15W of fast charging.
Pricing, Colors & Availability:
The iPhone 12 & iPhone 12 mini will be available in five colorful finishes – White, Black, Blue, Green and (PRODUCT) RED. The iPhone 12 mini starts at $699 for the base 64GB variant, $749 for the 128GB variant, and $849 for the 256GB variant with special offers from Verizon and AT&T. Without the offers from Verizon and AT&T, the 64GB variant costs $729, the 128GB variant costs $779, and the 256GB variant costs $879. The iPhone 12 mini will be available to Pre-order on November 6th.
The iPhone 12 starts at $799 for the base 64GB variant, $849 for the 128GB variant, and $949 for the 256GB variant with special offers from Verizon and AT&T. Without the offers from Verizon and AT&T, the 64GB variant costs $829, the 128GB variant costs $879, and the 256GB variant costs $979. The iPhone 12 will be available to Pre-order on October 16th at 5 a.m. PDT.
The iPhone 12 & the iPhone 12 mini is a step forward towards simplicity with powerful features into one phone.
