On the October 2020 Special Event, Apple announced Magsafe. A new innovation for the wireless charging industry. With amazing charging speeds and software integration, it is shaping to be the biggest leap in inductive charging.

More news of the inductive standard have come to light with the release of the iPhone 12 and 12 Pro, like charging speeds and other durability issues with the magnets included.

Recently, Apple released a support document featuring some unknown details about the MagSafe Charger. According to the document, the iPhone 12 Mini’s fastest charging speed will be 12W, compared to the rest of the lineup, that has a total charge speed of 15W.

This comes as a surprise, as we expected the lineup to fully feature the fastest charging speeds on all of the 2020 lineup. But alas, the battery in the 12 Mini is smaller, so it is likely that the slow charging speeds are implemented in order to protect it.

Alongside this new information, we can see other details and warnings about the MagSafe Charger. In order to get the best speed for your device, the Charger should already be plugged into a power source before it makes contact with the phone,  in order to make use of the Power Delivery of MagSafe.

The MagSafe accessories and chargers are shaping up to be one of the biggest and most exciting features on this year’s iPhone lineup. You can pick up your MagSafe Charger and Clear Case with Magsafe or other Apple Silicon cases now along with the iPhone Leather Wallet with MagSafe, and the MagSafe Duo Charger will be available at a later date.
