Apple TV+ is getting its very first Christmas special this year starring singer Mariah Carey.
According to Variety, singer Ariana Grande is also planned to be performing in the Christmas special as well.
The special will be called “Mariah Carey’s Magical Christmas Special” and will have the following plot, according to Variety:
“The special, entitled ‘Mariah Carey’s Magical Christmas Special,’ centers on a crisis at the North Pole that requires help from Santa’s great friend, Carey. Of course the elusive chanteuse and ‘undisputed Queen of Christmas’ jumps into action to ‘Save the Day,’ combining musical performances with animation and a whole slew of special guests, including Tiffany Haddish, Billy Eichner, Ariana Grande, Jennifer Hudson, Snoop Dogg, Jermaine Dupri, Misty Copeland, Mykal-Michelle Harris and Carey’s twins, Moroccan and Monroe.”
This special will premiere on Apple TV+ on Friday, December 4. Music from the special will be exclusively available on Apple Music on that same date and then be added to other music streaming services on Friday, December 11.
Carey’s Christmas special will be the only one premiering on Apple TV+ this holiday season because of the struggles of producing any form of non-video chat special due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
Apple TV+ costs $4.99 a month and is on the Apple TV app. The Apple TV app is available on the iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad, Apple TV, Mac, select Smart TVs, Roku devices, Amazon Fire TV, XBOX One, XBOX Series X & S consoles, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
