A day after the company removed Tennis Channel from its lineup, it has been announced that YouTube TV will be getting WGN America in January 2021.
WGN America airs originally programming such as “NewsNation Now” and “Carter.” It also airs a variety of syndicated TV shows like “Last Man Standing,” “J.A.G.” and “Blue Bloods.”
WGN is owned by Nexstar Media Group. Its president of the networks division, Sean Compton, said the new deal with WGN and YouTube TV will beneficial for both parties.
“We are extremely happy to have WGN America joining YouTube TV and we expect to continue the strategic expansion of WGN America to even more viewers in the months ahead,” he said. “We look forward to bringing WGN America’s programming and NewsNation’s fact-based, unbiased reporting to YouTube TV subscribers, including coverage of the presidential inauguration, which takes place just after our partnership begins.”
The only other live TV streaming service to offer WGN America is AT&T TV NOW for $54.99 a month.
A date for the channel’s official launch day has not been announced at this time.
YouTube TV costs $64.99 a month and is available to stream on the iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad, Apple TV and Mac.
