Apple Announces iPhone 11 Display Replacement Program

Apple today has announced a worldwide iPhone 11 display module replacement program, free for any affected iPhone 11, following a deluge of reports of unresponsive touch layers on various iPhone 11 units. 

In a support document, Apple states that it “has determined that a small percentage of iPhone 11 displays” manufactured between November 2019 and May 2020 had defective touch layers that may cause said displays to be unresponsive to touch.

Apple has also offered a serial number checker for existing iPhone 11 users to check if their device is eligible for a free repair. Users who have paid for a prior repair for an iPhone that is eligible for this program is directed by Apple to request a refund. 

If users believe that they have an affected iPhone 11 unit, Apple encourages said user to consult the program landing page on the Apple Support website.
