Zoom has become one of the most popular video-conferencing apps over the lockdown period as everyone switched from Physical meetings, classes and conferences to the Online Mode. The company has regularly pushed updates and security patches to make sure that the users do not face any problem.
Zoom has now pushed an update to support Apple’s new Silicon Processor. As mentioned in the release notes, Zoom will provide with a separate installer for the Apple Silicon Macs.
The update will make Zoom a universal app which means that it will run natively on both Intel-based Macs as well as the new Silicon Macs. Although Zoom ran via the Rosetta 2 Translation Mode and it had no issues, but having native support for the chipset gives it a bigger advantage in terms of device-specific updates and patches in the future.
The update bumps the version number to 5.4.7 and brings a lot of other features including the Raise Hand option for Host and Co-Host, Poll reports during the live session, Support for text messaging (SMS and MMS), and a lot more.
