With the iOS and HomePod 14.3 update, you can now use select 18W adapters to power your HomePod Mini. If you lost or dislike the included 20W adapter, or you are using it for your new iPhone 12, you now have a solution to your problem.

Before this update, users were not able to use any other adapters that weren’t the included Apple 20W USB-C version. Now, after Reddit User The 8-Bit noticed with the new update, a new thread has detailed which adapters can be used with the HomePod mini.

It is strange that Apple didn’t include this in the original firmware for the speaker, but it seems like support for other adapters will be rolling out in the next updates.

If you ever need to check the firmware version on your HomePod or HomePod mini, just open the Home app from your device and tap on settings.

Apple’s HomePod mini is an almost perfect device for the Holidays. With a great price and mind-blowing sound quality, this speaker fits perfectly in the middle of the Apple Ecosystem, bringing the features of HomePod to a much wider audience.
