The fabric and craft business JOANN looks as though it could be looking into accepting Apple Pay on its website.
A photo sent to us from @ContactlessWiki on Twitter shows that the user recently inspected the element of the source code on the JOANN website checkout page, where the programming of the page makes it look as though the company is looking into Apple Pay support on the website, as seen in the image below.
At this time, JOANN’s retail stores do not accept Apple Pay in them, so this could easily be a test of the payment method to see if it is something its customers want.
An advantage to using Apple Pay, as opposed to typing in your credit/debit card information, is that your card information is not shared with the merchant and that the purchase is verified by a one-time verification code.
This makes it so if, God forbid, JOANN were to have a data breach, your payment information would be safe since your card number and that information would not be stored on JOANN servers.
If JOANN were to begin accepting Apple Pay on its website, Apple Card users would be able to get 2% in Daily Cash on each purchase they make on it.
What do you think of JOANN possibly accepting Apple Pay soon? Let us know on Twitter at @appleosophy.
