Apple’s rumored mixed reality headset could launch in the middle of this year.
According to a Bloomberg report published yesterday, Apple will announce an AR/VR headset product in the next couple of months.
The report goes further by saying that Cupertino doesn’t want to announce the MR product in a virtual event and more in a crowded pre-pandemic event.
“If possible, Apple won’t want to make such a critical announcement at an online event, “it wants employees, the media, its partners, and developers in the room.”
In January, a report by Bloomberg claims that Apple’s VR/AR product will be a “niche and expensive product” for developers to experiment with.
Reliable Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said in the past that the upcoming product will have 8K display(s), eye-tracking technology, and a shade-type design with a slated launch date in 2022.
On the price though, there are some disputes. Kuo is saying that the price of the headset is “above that of the iPhone”, while another report is saying it will be as high as $3,000.
Apple will hold its first official event on June 7, that being WWDC 2021 with another potential event sometime in April. The mixed reality headset has been highly rumored and could release either this year or in 2022.
