In a new report, the 12.9″ iPad Pro is getting a new screen upgrade which makes the massive screen look even better.
According to The Elec, LG seeks to begin supplying and developing new screen panels for the 12.9″ iPad Pro, with the target date in 2023 or 2024. The outlet recently noted that Apple is planning to release two new iPad Pros sporting LTPO OLED displays.
This report is fairly similar to a previous one back in May where ET Korea stated that Apple will adopt OLED displays in “some iPads”.
The report also states that Samsung is also seeking to supply Apple with iPad Pro displays for the target years as well.
LG’s panels might use the same Ground substance as the current iPhone 13 Pro and provide more refresh rates between 10Hz and 120Hz depending on the user’s usage.
According to Ming-Chi Kuo, Samsung reportedly strained its relationship with Apple due to the cancellation of supplying displays for an expected 2022 iPad Air with 2023 or later as an alternative date.
The current 12.9″ iPad Pro sports a mini-LED display which provides higher peak brightness than that of OLED, but relies on dimming zones.
