Today is the day that PBS will be airing the Charlie Brown Halloween special, “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown” for viewers nationwide.
After previously being aired for nearly 20 years on ABC, Apple obtained the rights to the Charlie Brown holiday specials such as its Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas ones in 2018, which made way for some changes.
Last year was the first year that Apple aired the holiday specials on PBS, which could be seen as a better move for the specials since when they aired on ABC, they were edited and cut to add more commercials, whereas now they air on PBS where ads are not much of an issue when it comes to airing its programming.
At the time, this did not include the Halloween special, but PBS did eventually end up airing both the Thanksgiving and Christmas specials last year.
Today, “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown” will air at 7:30 p.m. ET on PBS and PBS Kids. This will be the only time and day that it airs on both channels.
Of course, those who have a subscription to Apple TV+ can stream the specials through their subscription to the streaming service from the Apple TV app.
The Apple TV app is available on the iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad, Apple TV, Mac, select Smart TVs, Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Google TV, XBOX One, XBOX Series X&S, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
