Last year, Apple gave us users a new feature called “SharePlay” that allows users to set up a FaceTime call and watch content from select streaming services, but to be able to do so together.

The feature you could say is a necessary one due to those who are trying to watch TV shows and movies with one another because of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

SharePlay is available to use on the iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad, Apple TV and Mac.

Here are the following streaming services that currently have support for SharePlay:

  • Apple TV+
  • Disney+
  • ESPN+
  • Showtime
  • NBA app
  • Shudder
  • Pluto TV
  • Starz
  • MUBI
  • Digital Concert Hall

There are apps that currently support SharePlay as well which are Apple Music, Twitch, TuneIn and TikTok.

Additionally, there are other streaming services that do have plans to get support for SharePlay that include BET+, HBO Max, MasterClass and Pantaya.

To use SharePlay, the user. must be running iOS 15.1, iPadOS 15.1, tvOS 15.1 and macOS 12.1 or newer on their Apple devices.

What are your thoughts on SharePlay? Have you used it before? What streaming service or app would you like to see get support for SharePlay this year? Comment below or let us know on Twitter at @appleosophy.
