As we reported last month, even though there is set to be a price increase with DirecTV Stream, the streaming service is looking to sweeten the pot a little more.
DirecTV Stream will be offering unlimited DVR to help counteract the cons for customers and the prices increases on the live TV streaming services.
According to The Streamable, DirecTV Stream was previously offering just 20 hours of DVR content with a $10 additional fee for an unlimited DVR.
Now, new customers of the service will get unlimited DVR at no extra cost to their plan.
The Streamable also said, “But, given that the service is month-to-month, this will have to be added to most existing subscribers’ plans, or they would be better off canceling and signing up again.”
This new unlimited DVR feature does allow for the service to compete with other live TV streaming services like YouTube TV and Philo which already offer an unlimited DVR in their standard plans.
DirecTV Stream currently costs $69.99 a month, which is ironically the same monthly price as its competitor Hulu with Live TV. It is available to stream on the iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad, Apple TV and Mac.
