It was reported yesterday that iPhone 6 users are no longer able to access the Twitter app on their device since it is considered to be outdated and not running a newer version of iOS.

The good news for iPhone 6 users is their iPhone’s last supported update was iOS 12.4.9, which means that apps that support iOS 12 and previous versions will still work on that iPhone.

The other good news is there are still a couple of Twitter apps in the App Store that would work on an iPhone 6 running its latest version of iOS.

Here are the following Twitter apps that should currently work on the iPhone 6:

  • Echofon: Echofon has been out as a Twitter app for as long as I can remember and it will still work on this iPhone. There is a free version of the app and a premium one, Echofon Pro, that costs $4.99.

  • TTTE for Twitter: It’s an odd-sounding name for a Twitter app, but despite that, it will work on the iPhone 6. The interface does look a bit more modern than Echofon, so if that is something you are into or want, this could be the app for you. It’s free in the App Store and then the full version of the app will cost 4.99.

Please note that these apps may not have all of the same features and functions as the official Twitter app.

Are you an iPhone 6 and are planning on using any of these Twitter app alternatives? Comment below or let us know on Twitter at @appleosophy.
