Twitter’s alternative app for the desktop, TweetDeck, will no longer be available on the Mac starting Friday, July 1.Â
This was announced yesterday by the official TweetDeck Twitter account.Â
We're saying goodbye to TweetDeck for the Mac app to focus on making TweetDeck even better and testing our new Preview. July 1 is the last day it'll be available.
You can still use TweetDeck on web and more invites to try the Preview will be rolling out over the next few months!

One of the features that makes TweetDeck so unique compared to the official Twitter app is it is now the only Twitter app that has “streaming,” which essentially has a continuous stream of live tweets coming through your timeline without having to refresh the app.Â
In the meantime, users of TweetDeck will still be able to use the TweetDeck.com website for Twitter viewing and tweeting purposes. Twitter still does also have its own Twitter for Mac app that can be used to view and create tweets from it.Â
