The Apple Watch SE was announced in September of 2020 alongside the Apple Watch Series 6, featuring the S5 chip, fall detection, advanced fitness tracking, and more for just $279. Soon enough, this watch became a popular option for users who did not want as many of the features of the Apple Watch Series 6 and Series 7 and preferred a low-cost option.
Apple is expected to discontinue the Apple Watch Series 3 and announce a new generation of the Apple Watch SE featuring a newer and faster S8 Chip. The feature-packed Apple Watch Series 8 and Apple Watch Pro are also expected to be announced at the “Far Out” Event held in Apple Park.Â
