Through an app update in the App Store, it was announced on Wednesday PLEX users can now AirPlay live TV through its iOS and iPadOS apps.
This update came in Version 8.9 of the app with the following release notes:
NEW:
– You can now AirPlay Live TV to compatible devices.
FIXED:
– Long pressing a search result for a person would incorrectly open a context menu.
– New font for headings and titles.
The compatible devices would be ones like the Apple TV or TVs and products that have support for AirPlay.
Obviously this feature would not be useful to all users of the service, but definitely those that have an antenna with their PLEX setup could certainly take advantage of this.
