It’s a new year and that means more new content both fresh and old to stream this month.

TV:

  • “How I Met Your Father” (Season 2): This Hulu exclusive is going into its second season with 20 new episodes. It will be available to stream on Hulu on Monday, January 23.

  • “New Amsterdam”: Multiple seasons of this hit NBC series are now available to stream on Netflix.

  • “That 90s Show”: It’s a spin-off of the iconic “That 70s Show” that ran on FOX for eight seasons. The new series will premiere on Netflix on Thursday, January 19.

  • “That 70s Show”: Before you get into the new rebooted series listed above, let’s take a step back and see the show that started it all. The original show can be streamed on Peacock. We’d recommend streaming the failed “That 80s Show” from the early 2000s too, but there is no official source to stream it at this time.

  • Hunters” (Season 2): The second of the second season premieres this month is happening this month on Prime Video and season two of “Hunters” premieres on Friday, January 13.

Movies:

  • “Teen Wolf: The Movie”: This highly anticipated film will be released on Paramount+ on Thursday, January 26.

  • “Fantastic Beasts”: You can stream the first two “Fantastic Beasts” films on HBO Max until January 31, which is the last day the two films will be on the streaming service. Its third film “The Secrets of Dumbledore” will be there to stay.

  • “Good Will Hunting”: This is a classic for people young and old that can be streamed on Showtime.

  • “The Social Network”: Need some inspiration to get or start a big project this year? This could be the movie you need to watch and is currently available to stream on Showtime.

  • “We Are Your Friends”: Kind of going along with the previous point, this is another one of those films that can inspire you to get off your butt and get to work on something. It can be streamed on Kanopy.

Sports:

  • #3 TCU vs. #1 Georgia (College Football): The College Football National Championship is coming and these are two of the top teams in the country going at it for the final game of the season. It will be played at 7:30 p.m. ET on Monday, January 9, on ESPN.

  • Tennessee Titans vs. Jacksonville Jaguars (NFL): It’s win and you’re in for each of these teams. The winner will also get the AFC South title as well. The game will be played at 8:15 p.m. on Saturday, January 7, on ABC and ESPN, and streaming live on ESPN+ and NFL+.

  • Detroit Lions vs. Green Bay Packers (NFL): While neither of these teams will win the NFC North at this point, it’ll set the stage for the playoff spots for each team. The game will be played at 8:20 p.m. ET on Sunday, January 8, on NBC and streaming live on NFL+ Peacock.

  • NFL Playoffs: The wildcard playoffs will kickoff on Saturday, January 14, with the playoffs going on all throughout the month on ABC, ESPN, CBS, FOX, and NBC, with select games streaming on ESPN+, NFL+, Paramount+, and Peacock.

  • Golden State Warriors vs. Boston Celtics (NBA): It could be a nice matchup later on this month to break up all of the football action. The game will be played at 7:30 p.m. ET on Thursday, January 19, on TNT.
