LG announced this morning that a set of Apple apps will soon be available on its webOS-powered TVs.
These apps include the Apple TV app and Apple Music, as well as support for AirPlay and HomeKit on its webOS Hub.
When it comes to the features of these apps being added, it will enable customers to use the Apple TV app to access Apple TV+, iTunes and Apple TV app purchases, as well as Apple TV Channels access for those that subscribe to streaming services like Paramount+ or AMC+ through it.
For Apple Music, it will give subscribers access to their Apple Music account through their LG TV, Apple Music Radio, and support for Live Lyrics.
Other features like AirPlay are going to be available for those using an iPhone, iPad, or Mac, and HomeKit support for control of said TV through the Home app and Siri.
The difference between this announcement and other LG TVs with webOS software on them is it will now ber available to other branded TVs that have LG’s webOS on them. These other brands include Seiki, Eko, Stream System, Konka, Aiwa, and Hyundai.
