CarPlay support coming to Uber Driver app

A big update is said to be coming to the Uber Driver app for drivers on the ride-sharing service.

The Uber Drive app is getting CarPlay support, according to TechCrunch.

This is being done so instead of drivers having their iPhones mounted or somewhere nearby on their dashboard will now be able to simply look at the display on their dashboard and see their GPS map on the screen and be able to navigate customers to their destinations.

Along with that, they will get turn-by-turn directions, accept or deny new rides, add rides to their queue, see surge pricing in certain areas, and view if they are currently on or offline in their status.

An official launch date for this update has not been announced at this time.

Here are the steps to follow in order to get CarPlay for the Uber Driver app:

  • Open the app on your iPhone and tap Go to go online.
  • Connect your iPhone to your car via cable or wirelessly.
  • Once connected, open CarPlay, and there you go!
