Ivory for Mastodon by Tapbots gets post editing feature and other updates, Mac version on the way

Avatar for David Becker

We’ve been following the app updates for the brand new Ivory for Mastodon app by Tapbots, as Mastodon has been a social network people have been joining to escape Twitter after it was bought out by Elon Musk late last year.

Ivory did receive an update last week that enabled the ability for users to edit their accounts right from the app instead of using the official Mastodon app.

Today, the app was updated to Version 1.1 with the ability to edit posts on Mastodon after they have been posted.

Here are the other updates that came with the app update:

  • Report Users and Posts
  • Support for Mastodon server language translation services (if your server has them).
  • Various other small bug fixes.

Tapbots has also started beta testing its new Mac app for Ivory. The app is said to have timeline sync after using the app on the iPhone or iPad, and keyboard shortcuts, as well as look and feel familiar to the old Tweetbot for Mac app that Tapbots made too.

There is no official launch date for the Mac app at this time.

What are your thoughts on Ivory and/or Mastodon? Have you tried it yet? Do you use Mastodon? Comment below or let us know on Twitter at @appleosophy.
