One of the longest holdouts of supporting Apple Pay is finally getting on board.
It has now been reported by reliable Twitter user @ContactlessWiki that Lowe’s, the popular American home improvement chain, has begun accepting Apple Pay in its app and on its website.

This has also been confirmed through Lowe’s customer service via its iMessage Business Chat feature in the Lowe’s app. The addition of Apple Pay support to the Lowe’s app and website has been available since February 16, 2023.
Apple Pay acceptance through the app is said to be available for online shipped and pickup in-store orders.
Previously, in order for Lowe’s customers to use Apple Pay as a payment method, they would have to place orders for delivery through Instacart since that company accepts Apple Pay.
At this time, the feature could still be rolling out for other customers, therefore, some customers may or may not have access to it.
A supposed supervisor from Lowe’s has recently posted on Reddit that there are plans to add Apple Pay support to Lowe’s retail stores by the end of the fiscal year.
By accepting Apple Pay in its app and website (for now, hopefully), it will mean that Apple Card users will get 2% in Daily Cash on each purchase they make through those routes. Lowe’s does make it so its MyLowes rewards program card holders can add their rewards card to the Wallet app too.
It also makes it so Lowe’s is one of the top home improvement stores in the U.S. accepting Apple Pay (in some capacity). Behind it are Ace Hardware (an Apple Card 3% Daily Cash merchant), True Value, and Harbor Freight Tools.
