MLB Friday Night Baseball

This year, the second season of “Friday Night Baseball” on the Apple TV app will require a subscription to Apple TV+.

Last season, Apple allowed anyone with access to the Apple TV app and a stable internet connection to stream the “Friday Night Baseball” games for free, regardless if whether or not you were subscribed to Apple TV+. However, that was only for a limited time and that time is up in 2023.

Apple TV+ currently costs $6.99 a month and live “Friday Night Baseball” games are included.

The first game of the “Friday Night Baseball” season will start on Friday, April 7, and be between the Texas Rangers and Chicago Cubs.

One of the major changes this year to “Friday Night Baseball” is the additional streams of local radio stations that are broadcasting the games in audio format. Viewers will now have the ability to be watching a “Friday Night Baseball” game and instead of hearing the commentary from the Apple TV+ announcers (production of the games is done by MLB Network), can instead hear the announcers from the more local commentators.

That feature has also been used with MLS Season Pass on Apple TV+.

You can view the first half of scheduled “Friday Night Baseball” games on Apple TV+ here.
