Source: Apple Pay rolling out inside AMC Theaters soon

Avatar for David Becker

Last year, AMC was able to bring Apple Pay support to its iOS app for consumers to be able to use Apple Pay or Apple Card as a payment method in the checkout when purchasing tickets.

A year later and the same source has now told us that support for Apple Pay inside AMC movie theaters has started and will be a gradual rollout over the next couple of weeks.

This would make it so AMC movie theater customers could pay with Apple Pay at the movie theaters for tickets, as well as snacks and drinks for the movies themselves. All customers would have to do would be to open the Wallet app on their iPhone or Apple Watch and pay for their items that way without having to take out a physical card.

For Apple Card users, it would also mean they would have the opportunity to get 2% in Daily Cash at the movie theaters not only for their ticket purchases, but for anything purchased at the concessions at the theaters too.
