Apple announces WWDC23

Apple has just announced the annual World Wide Developer Conference which will be held in the Steve Jobs Theater from June 5th through June 9th. The main keynote (where most features are announced) will happen online on June 5th at 10:00am PST. There will also be an in-person experience for those invited by Apple.

The announcement of WWDC23 comes in a time of general drought when it comes to rumors and leaks about Apple’s newest iteration of its iOS platform. The general consensus however is that iOS 17 will not feature any major changes except for integration with Apple’s rumored Mixed Reality platform. This is much needed as it allows developers to focus on bug fixes and provide a stable Mixed Reality experience for those who invest into it.

As mentioned above, the real headliner of WWDC23 is the Apple MR Headset and its accompanying xrOS. This has been leaked for a series of years ever since Virtual Reality turned mainstream, but Mark Gurman has seemingly confirmed this in his tweet about WWDC23.
