Another app has joined the CarPlay ecosystem.
Instapaper announced last Friday that its app is now available and supported for CarPlay. However, it should be noted that it is only available to those who subscribe to Instapaper Premium.
CarPlay support comes in Version 8.3 of the Instapaper app.
What the Instapaper CarPlay will allow users to do is listen to their saved articles while driving. The app will read them with its text-to-speech feature, but will offer the option for users to change the sound of the voice in settings of the app.
Of course, the app does give the ability for users to rewind, fast-forward, and skip saved stories. Playlists can be made in the iOS app and used in the CarPlay app as well.
To test the new CarPlay app, since it is a premium feature, Instapaper is giving away a 30-day free trial of Instapaper Premium so more users have the chance to try it out for themselves and see if it is for them. This can be signed up for through Instapaper’s website.
After the free trial is over, the service will go back to its $2.99 a month price.
