Announced back in January 2023, the same time as the updated 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros, the updated Mac mini models were updated with the next generation of Apple Silicon – the M2 and M2 Pro, marking the first time that the Mac mini featured a higher-end chip. Now, these models are available at Apple Certified Refurbished with prices starting at $509.
The base model usually starts at $599 (MSRP) when buying new, and that comes with an M2 chip, 8GB unified memory, and 256GB SSD. The standard configuration with the M2 Pro starts at $1,299 (MSRP) when buying new; however, at the time of this writing, that configuration has not been available to purchase at the Refurbished store. It’s possible that Apple hasn’t any of the stock ready for that model, or it completely ran out of stock already as supplies for refurbished models do come and go.
Therefore, if you’re looking for a good deal on an M2 Mac mini, it’s better to consider buying a refurbished model now rather than later. Buying refurbished models will get you the same coverage as that of a new Apple product with a one-year limited warranty, 14-day return policy, and “like new” condition through a rigorous refurbishment process.
