Apple has started rolling out iOS 16.5.1 and iPadOS 16.5.1 to the public with important bug fixes and security updates. These updates come over a month after the release of iOS 16.5 & iPadOS 16.5, which featured a new Pride Celebration Wallpaper, a new Sports tab in Apple News, and more. Apple keeps refining the software experience with every iOS 16.x.x & iPadOS 16.x.x update whilst also fixing security issues.

Discovered & Reported by: Georgy Kucherin, Leonid Bezvershenko, and Boris Larin of Kaspersky.

WebKit Vulnerability: This vulnerability has the potential to process maliciously crafted web content, which may lead to arbitrary code execution. Apple has improved checks to address a Type confusion issue that was causing this vulnerability.

Along with iOS 16.5.1 and iPadOS 16.5.1, Apple also released iOS 15.7.7 and iPadOS 15.7.7 for older devices.
