Apple has started rolling out Security Response Update (c) for supported devices running iOS 16.5.1, iPadOS 16.5.1, and macOS Ventura 13.4.1. These updates come two days after the release of Security Response Update (a) for iOS 16.5.1, iPadOS 16.5.1, and macOS Ventura 13.4.1 which addressed an actively exploited WebKit vulnerability. However, the update was shortly pulled by Apple as it prevented some websites from displaying properly after installation. Today, Apple has again re-released the update (c) to now also include a fix for the website issue.
According to Apple, the recent security response updates fix a WebKit vulnerability: This vulnerability has the potential to process maliciously crafted web content, which may lead to arbitrary code execution. Apple has improved checks to address this actively exploited vulnerability.
