With the introduction of the iPhone 15 Pro in less than 24 hours, we have yet to see what will be the final storage configurations for Apple’s flagship smartphone for this year.
According to MacRumors, despite previous rumors indicating that the iPhone 15 Pro would start with 256 GB of storage, it will start at the same base capacity of 128 GB as last year’s iPhone 14 Pro. Additionally, the maximum capacity will remain the same at 1 TB instead of the new 2 TB option that previous rumors indicated. So the storage options for the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max will be the following based on Apple’s internal testings:
- 128 GB
- 256 GB
- 512 GB
- 1 TB
However, the iPhone 15 Pro models are expected to get an increase in memory since the iPhone 12 Pro from 2020, from 6 GB to 8 GB. Those upcoming devices are expected to use the same LPDDR5 DRAM found in the iPhone 14 Pro from last year. Additionally, they will feature the next generation A17 system-on-a-chip that will pioneer the 3nm manufacturing process and will have a major boost in both the CPU and graphics performance over the A16, with a boost in clock speed from 3.46 GHz to 3.70 GHz and an additional GPU core. Despite previous rumors of an increase in the starting price, the iPhone 15 Pro is still expected to start at the same $999 price point as Apple’s previous Pro models.Â
The event will occur tomorrow at 10 am PDT/1 pm EDT. Make sure to follow us on @Appleosophy to hear even more stories on the upcoming products.
