More changes are expected to be coming to iTunes once a newer version of iOS 17 is released.

Apple plans to remove the iTunes Movie and TV Store from the iTunes with the release of iOS 17.2. In return, the Movie and TV Stores would then be merged with the Apple TV app.

This information has been found in the second iOS 17.2 beta.

Apple has put for forth a lot of work and effort in the Apple TV app into making it the home to find new content to stream, rent, and purchase.

As it stands right now, the Apple TV app already lets users rent and purchase movies. By eliminating the Movie Store in iTunes, it could create less confusion for users when choosing new films to rent or buy.

The same move is also expected to be coming to the TV Store in iTunes as well.

At this time, there has yet to be an announced date for when iOS 17.2. If Apple sticks to its schedule, we could probably expect it to be released before the end of 2023.
